ALARM SYSTEMS
Peerless Security has been serving Central and Northern Ontario since 1986. Sincere care, commitment and competitive pricing have made Peerless a trusted and proven leader. We are pleased to offer a complete line of alarm detection and controls with 4 levels of alarm monitoring communications and response. We are a good standing member of The Canadian Security Association and are a U.L.C. Listed company for both security and fire installation, service and monitoring.

Burglary
Burglar alarms are now part of our every day lives. They are in the homes we live in and in the buildings we work in. They protect people and property and provide a great deal of peace of mind. Combinations of interior and perimeter detection will meet the needs of people wanting protection while they are home as well as while they are away. Many insurance companies offer a 5% to 15% discount for customers who have monitored alarm systems in their building(s).

Temperature
Many insurance companies have "fine print" dealing with policy holders having water damage and/ or freezing damage. The damage can be astronomical and loses are not always covered. There are 2 basic ways that homes lose heat. The first being the source of heat fails due to lack of fuel, loss of hydro or mechanical failure. These types of heating failures have a more uniform slow heat loss while the second way to lose heat, a broken window or door, has a rapid heat loss in a localized area.

Power Failure
Power failures can and do cause grief for home and business owners. Thousands of dollars in food can be lost if freezers are without power for too long. Some people have installed generators to deal with power outages but often enough they do not start when they need to. All of our alarms come with rechargeable back-up battery power and low battery reporting to our monitoring station. We can inexpensively monitor your premises for power and / or generator failures.

Medical Alarms
Medical alarms provide a means of keeping ones independence in their own premises and provide families and loved ones a great deal of peace of mind. Help is summoned by the simple push of a button on one of our wireless water resistant pendant or wrist band transmitters.

Panic Alarms
Whether it is in the home or at work, panic alarms are an instant response to a threat. Panic buttons can be concealed under a desk or mounted on a wall and can be hard wired or wireless (pendant or wrist band). Panic alarms can cause a local audible alert if desired as well as sending a signal for police or guard response.

Smoke Alarms
Whether they are stand alone units or connected to a burglar alarm system, smoke alarms save lives. Through the regulation of the Ontario Building Code all new residential construction require smoke alarms before occupancy is granted. Many insurance companies will reduce their premiums when buildings contain monitored smoke alarms.

Carbon Monoxide
Carbon monoxide is silent but deadly. It is a byproduct of combustion and is commonly created by faulty heating systems. Carbon monoxide detectors can be stand alone or connected to an alarm system.

Pump Alarm
Sump pumps do fail and when they do flooding usually follows. A simple float switch connected to your alarm systems can monitor the water level in the sump pump tank and alert you and / or the Peerless monitoring station when the level is too high. Sewage pumps are generally reliable but when they do fail it is usually a very bad experience. In some cases sewage can come back up the drain pipes or overflow in to a lake. A simple mercury switch connected to an audible device and / or an alarm system provides for early detection of pump failure.

Access Control
There are many different types of access control systems but in general all require some form of identification for access to do such things as turn off an alarm, unlock a door or log on to a computer network. The most common form of identification for access control is a PIN number or code. Over the years this has evolved to include "swipe cards", finger print readers, retina readers and voice recognition.

Generator Alarm
Power outages are common in outlying areas and many people are now installing generators to combat hydro loss. Most generators installed in homes, cottages and commercial buildings are electric start and will not start if the battery or oil level is too low. Many generators can be connected to alarm systems to provide notification in the event of low battery, low oil, fail to start or fail to transfer.
